Common Myths on Chiropractic Care
Some people are still scared of trying alternative treatments, particular
chiropractic care, because of misconceptions and myths. I am trying my best to reach everyone in Cape
Girardeau, but it seems I have still not talked to all of you! Here are
some common myths you might have heard about chiropractic care:
Myth: Chiropractic is Too
Painful
All in all Chiropractic is generally
painless. Many patients actually feel relieved immediately after corrections! Some people in fact love the
way the adjustment feels. In some cases, where patients have long been struggling with neck pain, or back pain, they may
feel some discomfort, but their visits tend to be more and more relaxing as time progresses.
Many adults look forward to
corrections. Children many times are scared, but quickly get over their fright once they realize that there
is nothing to fear!
Myth: Chiropractic is
Dangerous
As mentioned in previous articles, Chiropractic
is very safe. Chiropractic is looked upon by many as the safest way to help neck and back
problems. This is compared to the possible dangerous outcomes of pain killers and
surgeries. As
a result many doctors, encourage their patients this before turning to surgery. Chiropractic is also
recommended by many doctors, before they prescribe strong drugs like steroids and pain
killers.
Myth: Chiropractors are Less Capable
Compared to Medical Doctors
Chiropractors undergo go very rigorous training
and education. These courses are identical to those taken by medical doctors for the first two years; where
they then learn about natural procedures of healing, and the MD’s learn of surgery and
pharmacology. Chiropractors first must study from 3-4 years as an undergraduate, before going on and
completing 4 to 5 years of doctorate level studies at an accredited Chiropractic College.
Chiropractors are then well-equipped in subjects
such as pathology, radiology, biomechanics, differential diagnosis, physiology, Chiropractic techniques, and
other health concerns to name a few.
After completion of their doctorate program they must pass State and National
Boards to ensure their qualification.
Even after these steps are met, they must get Continuing Education every year and
ensure that they are staying current with their skills.
Myth: Chiropractic is Very
Pricey
Chiropractic is considered both effective and
cost-effective. This is especially true when comparing major medical interventions such as surgery and long
term pain killers. Many patients under Chiropractic Care have drastically
lowered their expenses for inpatient visits, healthcare programs, and medications.
In most cases a Cape Girardeau Chiropractic
Clinic will find have a cheap and quick way to get you in to determine if you are a candidate for Chiropractic
Care. For
example you can look at my website http://capegirardeauchiropractic.com/Office-Visit-Coupon.html
to get a new patient visit coupon that saves lots of money and
helps you check out Chiropractic risk-free.
Depending on your case, prices may be higher at the beginning of care as you may
be seen more frequently, but that quickly changes and at that point many offices will offer you to stay on a
maintenance program should you choose.
These types of preventative programs ensure that you don’t lose the ground you had
gained while under the initial care program.
